The May 17th programs was about the American Red Cross.  Community Volunteer Leader Doug Lloyd will presented the program.
 
Doug is a resident of Newton, Kansas for 50 years, native Kansan, born and raised on a farm in Clay County.  Attended Clay County public schools and earned a BSIE from Kansas State University.  He has spent his career at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, Hesston Corp, The Associated Co., Full Vision Inc., AGCO and ownership of Sundance Equipment, LLC.  Currently he works part-time for Sundance Grinders LLC. 
 
In addition to serving as a current Red Cross disaster cycle services volunteer, Doug was recently appointed a Community Volunteer Leader by the Red Cross.  In this role, he serves as a point of contact for local communities with the primary goal of connecting the community to the Red Cross mission.  His work is centered on volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention as well as cultivating, managing and stewarding relationships with key community stakeholders.  His efforts are coordinated with Michelle Jantz, Executive Director and the Board of Directors.  Doug serves throughout south central and southeast Kansas with a focus on Harvey, Reno and Rice counties.
