The Rotary Club of Newton held their 95th annual Christmas and Awards Banquet Tuesday December 4, 2012 at Cross Wind Conference Center in Hesston, Kansas.

 

 

 

 

 

 The Rotary Club of Newton held their 95th annual Christmas and Awards Banquet Tuesday December 4, 2012 at Cross Wind Conference Center in Hesston, Kansas. After a wonderful dinner along with an outstanding program of magic performed by magician Ed Parrish of Wichita, Kansas District 5690 Rotarian Officers presented to Past President Leroy Koehn & President Kim Manring Rotary International & District awards for their contributions and work the past year. The Club received from Past District Governor Phil Michel the Grand Service Award for being the outstanding club in the district 2011/12 (tied with Boise City.) This was the second time the club has received this award in the past three years. Past District Governor and Past District Foundation Chair Geri Appel presented the club an award for donations to The Rotary Foundation in which the club finished second in the district in average per member giving of over two hundred and twenty-two dollars. Both District 5690 Officers thanked the club for being such a force in their community and for involving their members in over 85 events which benefited the community in a positive way.

The Rotary Club of Newton is the oldest service organization in Harvey County chartered in 1917.
