The Avenues of Service Award (highest award given by a club to one of its members) was awarded to David Yoder for his years of service to the club and to District 5690.

 

The Avenues of Service Award (highest award given by a club to one of its members) was awarded to David Yoder for his years of service to the club and to District 5690.

David Yoder has been a Rotarian for over 11 years and is a Past President of The Rotary Club of Newton. He is in his fourth year of service as an Assistant Governor of District 5690. In the Newton club, David is involved as a Board Member, Program Co-Chair, and Publicity Chair. He is very impressed with the ideals Rotary stands for and is honored to be a part of such a fine organization.

David serves as the Harvey County Attorney, an elected position he has held since 2002. He is a graduate of Wichita State University and Washburn University School of Law, and served five years in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate. He has also served as Municipal Judge for the City of Newton, Small Claims Judge, and as City Prosecutor in Newton and Halstead.

He was born and raised in Newton and is active in the First Presbyterian Church where his wife Lori serves as Secretary. They have six grown children and five grandchildren.
