Service Animal Training

 

At Tuesday's meeting, we got out the bar stool and have a "sit & visit" with Past District Governor Sue Pearce about training of service dogs.  Sue easily falls in love with anything with 4-legs.  This has driven her to her love of being "house mom" with puppies that will eventually become service dogs. These dogs have to be smart, obedient, friendly, and trainable - unlike many of us were when we grew up.

 

She told the club  the dogs come to her as "pups" and She follows a regiment of early training and eventually turns the dog back for finish training before they become service companions.
